Body butter hydrates and protects skin more effectively than lighter lotions. It's best for the dry and very dry skin. Body butter contains oils and butters that replace the missing oils in dry skin. The thicker formula of body butter locks the moisture in by forming a protective layer on the skin that prevents moisture loss. The fatty acids in body butter help repair the skin barrier – the skin's own protective layer that is often weakened when the skin is dry.
